These awards have been presented annually since 2010. Celebrating its 15th anniversary we have honored more than 550 heroes since the program’s inception.
Each month, Allen & Allen awards a $1,000 charitable donation to a different 501 (C)(3) organization, to support everyday heroes who make a difference in their communities.
Each New Year’s Eve, Allen & Allen partners with local taxi companies to reduce the number of intoxicated drivers in the Richmond and Charlottesville communities with the Sober Ride Home program. The program assists with a safe ride home for revelers.
FeedMore, the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, and the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank offer comprehensive hunger programs that help provide food to each community's most vulnerable residents: children, families, and seniors. Allen & Allen supports the mission of these food banks with financial contributions and yearly participation in Legal Food Frenzy, a competitive food drive organized by Virginia law firms.
The Virginia Teacher of the Year award honors an educator who represents the best in teaching in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the nation. Allen & Allen presents a cash award to VATOY recipients annually to support their efforts in the classroom.
