Allen & Allen is thrilled to announce that three attorneys have been named to Virginia Business’s Legal Elite 2023!
Bridget Long, James Kessel, and Kari La Fratta have been given this honor for civil litigation, and the respected nomination process is done by peer review.
Launched in cooperation with the Virginia Bar Association in 2000, Virginia Business’s Legal Elite polls lawyers licensed to practice in Virginia each year, asking them to identify which of their peers excel in the 20 categories of legal specialties. Virginia Business contacted more than 14,000 attorneys and more than 50 law firms, directing them to a balloting website.
Bridget Long is an Allen & Allen Shareholder, a managing partner at the firm’s Mechanicsville location, and serves on the firm’s executive committee. She is currently chair-elect of the Women Trial Lawyers Caucus at the American Association for Justice (AAJ. She has served as president of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association (VTLA), as well as the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).
Jamie Kessel is a Shareholder as well. He is active with the American Association for Justice (AAJ) where he currently serves as Chair-Elect of the Motor Vehicle Liability section. He has been named to Virginia Super Lawyers every year for over a decade and has also been named to the “Top 50 in Richmond” and “Top 100 in Virginia” attorney lists.
Kari La Fratta is a trial attorney working out of Allen & Allen’s Charlottesville office. She had recent success with a $900,000 medical malpractice case, and has been named to Virginia Super Lawyers’ Rising Star list. “I am so flattered to be chosen as Legal Elite for Civil Litigation again this year. Legal Elite is a peer nomination process. To be selected by other lawyers as one of the top civil litigators in Virginia is an honor.,” says La Fratta.
