In 2025 he secured a $24 million wrongful death settlement, the largest wrongful death recovery in Virginia state history.
Ellen C. Bognar practices out of the Charlottesville office and focuses her practice on advocating for patients and their families who have been harmed by nursing home negligence. In 2025, she achieved notable reported settlements including recoveries of $500,000, $9250,000, and $1,000,000, as published in Virginia Lawyers Weekly.
Paul D. Hux, Of Counsel, has been with the firm for more than 25 years and was previously a trial attorney and Shareholder. He has been included on the Virginia Super Lawyers list since 2010. Paul was also listed in the 2026 Richmond Super Lawyers Top 50 List as well as the 2026 Virginia Super Lawyers Top 100 List.

In 2025, he secured the fourth largest personal injury verdict, a $3.46 million jury verdict as reported by Virginia Lawyers Weekly. Jason was also listed in the 2026 Richmond Super Lawyers Top 50 List as well as the 2026 Virginia Super Lawyers Top 100 List.
Bridget N. Long is a trial attorney and Shareholder practicing in the Chesterfield office. She has been included on the Virginia Super Lawyers list since 2008. She has served as President of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and chaired the Women’s Caucus of the American Association for Justice. Kari J. La Fratta is a trial attorney in the Charlottesville office. She has been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star for seven consecutive years and was also recognized on Virginia Business Magazines Legal Elite list from 2021-2025.
Emily E. Smith practices out of Allen & Allen’s Fredericksburg office and focuses on cases involving car, truck, or motorcycle crashes. Known for her superior client services, she is known to work tirelessly on behalf of her clients. She has been included in the Rising Star list since 2023.
John J. Siegner, is a Petersburg trial attorney and has been with the firm since 2018. He’s a member of the Richmond chapter of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association.
