Allen & Allen attorneys in the Charlottesville office recently supported The Sexual Assault Resource Agency (SARA) as sponsors for the 2018 Awards Breakfast. The event honored ordinary citizens who have made extraordinary contributions to the elimination of sexual violence in our community.
Says attorney David Irvine: “SARA has been doing invaluable work supporting victims for many years. To hear the stories of some of their incredibly brave clients at the awards breakfast was an inspiration.”
Located in Charlottesville, SARA seeks to eliminate sexual violence and its impact by providing education, advocacy and support to men, women and children.
According to the program’s website, SARA reaches approximately 550 survivors and up to 8,000 students each year, and provides the following services:
- A 24-Hour Crisis Hotline;
- Trauma-informed Therapy (Including EMDR);
- Emergency Room Advocacy;
- Legal System Advocacy;
- Support Groups;
- Therapeutic Horse and Farm Camp for Young Girls; and
- Counseling and Advocacy for Non-Offending Parents and Families of Abused Children.
“At Allen & Allen, we are driven by our commitment to service, and it is an absolute privilege to support SARA’s mission, and to educate and enrich the lives of those in our community,” says Irvine.
