It’s because of family that this firm adopted its memorable name. Founded in 1910 by George E. Allen, a decision he made during the Great Depression in 1931 would change the course of the firm forever. He moved from rural Lunenburg County, Virginia to Richmond, Virginia to serve a larger population. He also brought his three sons on board as attorneys; hence the name Allen, Allen, Allen & Allen. For nearly 115 years, the firm has grown across Central Virginia to multiple locations, with four generations of the Allen family carrying on the tradition of protecting the injured.
Scott Fitzgerald, a fourth-generation Allen family member, said, “Today, there are five Allen family members (Courtney Van Winkle, Edward Allen, Wil Van Winkle, Parker Allen, and me) who are trial attorneys at Allen & Allen. Although we have grown in size to over 40 attorneys, we are proud to carry on the tradition of excellent client service that has been a core value since my great-grandfather, George E. Allen, founded the firm in 1910.”
