Meet Attorney and Shareholder Chris Jones
Chris Jones brings a blend of experience and passion to his legal practice. A graduate of James Madison University, Chris earned his Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Secondary Education. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from the University of Richmond School of Law.
Chris is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and a member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association (VTLA). Since 2023, Chris has served as the managing attorney of our Petersburg office. “I’ve been able to help countless people thanks to my amazing staff in Petersburg. My decade here has been an awesome experience, and I look forward to another 20 years here – for the rest of my career.”
Beyond the courtroom, Chris is a passionate advocate for education. He regularly presents End Distracted Driving programs to students, working to raise awareness and prevent needless accidents. His background as a high school teacher and basketball coach at Grafton High School continues to shape his educational style. Chris is also an adjunct faculty member at the University of Richmond School of Law and actively supports the next generation of attorneys.
On becoming one of Allen and Allen’s newest shareholders, Chris is ecstatic. “It’s a dream come true for me to be elected a shareholder of such a historic law firm, especially with all that Allen & Allen means to the state of Virginia. I’m happy to be a part of the Allen family.”
Meet Attorney and Shareholder David Irvine
David Irvine is a seasoned trial attorney in our Charlottesville office and one of the newest shareholders at Allen & Allen. David shares it is “a true joy and honor to join the ranks of other shareholders at Allen & Allen. The Allen Firm has such a prominent place in Virginia legal history that it makes me very proud to carry on the work of so many exceptional lawyers before me. I’m proud to carry on the legacy of representing deserving clients who have been injured.”
David joined Allen & Allen in 2015, bringing with him a sharp legal mind and a passion for justice. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Religion from Wake Forest University, graduating summa cum laude, before obtaining his Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law. When David reflects on his time with Allen & Allen, he shares that it has “been a privilege to practice in this office for the last 10 years. I’m grateful to serve our wonderful community here in Charlottesville.”
In addition to his courtroom work, David is deeply committed to serving the legal community, where he helps support the development of trial lawyers across the state of Virginia. He is an active member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association (VTLA) and currently serves on its Board of Governors. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Charlottesville-Albemarle Bar Association. David is an active participant in the firm’s Hometown Heroes and Sober Ride Home programs.
His leadership and expertise continue to strengthen our firm and our ability to serve clients across Virginia.
