The Allen Law Firm had an unforgettable celebration last night, as they honored the 15th anniversary of their Hometown Heroes program!

At the Virginia Museum of History and Culture, they not only honored the 2024 Hometown Heroes, but invited back Heroes from years past, to commemorate the special occasion. While every Hometown Heroes event is an uplifting experience, last night was heightened because it was a reunion of sorts. There was much hugging, catching up, and happy surprise reactions. It solidified the maxim that once you’re an Allen, you’re always an Allen.

This newly renovated museum was the perfect backdrop as people mingled, joined friends in the photo booth, and enjoyed drinks. President Jason Konvicka welcomed Heroes onto the stage, and they were met with a warm applause. This was followed by a moving speech from 2017 Hometown Hero Kelly Sydnor, founder of RollwithCole. Her son became a quadriplegic after a devastating accident on the James River. But through the help of her community, the family began to heal, along with their son. As an active and positive disabled person, Cole even became a motivating public figure for people around the world.

Dinner was served, and the upscale barbecue featured everything from smoked Gouda mac & cheese, to a gourmet tiered cupcake display. After the speeches, guests explored the museum and exhibits, which remained open until 8:30 pm. As guests departed, they each received a gift bag filled with Allen & Allen swag and chocolates!

In all, it was a heartwarming evening, and a perfect way to commemorate the program honoring those who make Virginia a better place to live, work, and play.
