Virginia Personal Injury Law Firm Allen and Allen Adopt The Troops Campaign

Local Law Firm Boosts Troop Morale Overseas

(Richmond, VA, October 3, 2007) After receiving a  request from local Richmonder Nathan Hepler, stationed in Afghanistan, the Allen Law Firm launched their Adopt-the-Troops campaign with full force.   Hepler wrote,  “I am writing to Richmond’s Allen & Allen Law Firm because I would like to ‘build’ an awesome morale center here… and desperately need some help.” Supporting the troops overseas struck a chord with many of the 100+ attorneys and staff,  many of whom have loved ones that have served or are currently serving in the military.  Allen & Allen took  the project one step further and adopted a second troop in Kuwait, where Major Chris Dykes, son-in-law of receptionist Sandy Silver, is stationed.

The overwhelming generosity of the firm came through . This week 13 boxes  full of books, snacks, toiletries, games, an Xbox 360 and cappuccino makers  will be shipped to Afghanistan and Kuwait to  ” build ”  Morale Centers for these brave individuals.  Firm patrons of a local Starbucks even got the coffee shop to pitch in pounds of coffee to perk up the troops.  The firm plans to continue their support of these units with letter writing campaigns and more care packages for the remainder of the troops’ 15 – 18 month deployments .

Lieutenant Nathan Hepler is the Executive Officer  of Attack Company, 1-503rd Airborne Infantry Regiment. His company of 100+ paratroopers is stationed at FOB Tillman in Afghanistan. Major Chris Dykes is stationed in Kuwait with the First Theater Sustainment Command.   The 50 soldiers in  Major Dykes’ unit expect to be deployed for the next 18 months.
