Allen & Allen has always been an enthusiastic supporter of first responders, who share a mission with the firm to protect injured people. Tonight, first responders and multiple communities in Virginia are coming together for the 40th annual National Night Out!

National Night Out

What is National Night Out?

National Night Out is a campaign that helps to foster relationships between community members and local law enforcement. Personal interactions are vital to building trust and understanding, especially between the police force and neighborhoods that have endured contentious periods with them. Residents will be educated on community resources available to them, and first responders can better understand the neighborhoods they serve.

What happens at a National Night Out event?

Police officers, firefighters, and EMS crews come into the community for a night of celebration, allowing children to climb into fire trucks, letting residents have one-on-one conversations with the police officers that patrol their districts, and opportunities for fun!

The fun varies from event to event, but many include free ice cream, music, bounce houses, and misting tents. Often local restaurants give away free samples and community-based businesses such as YMCA offer a prize wheel to give away free swag.
