Earlier this month, Derrick Walker hosted quite the happy hour during the annual convention for the American Association for Justice (AAJ) in Philadelphia.

At this party, he took the mic to make a speech, and officially announced his candidacy for parliamentarian of the AAJ. The team at Allen & Allen were in attendance to cheer him on! The convention itself was quite eventful. In addition to the party where he announcing his candidacy, Derrick was given the Minority Caucus Stalwart Award.
The happy hour party was a great respite from the long day of conferences and committee meetings at the convention. According to the hype on Instagram and TikTok, Sampan has one of the best happy hours in Philadelphia, so the Allen Law Firm reserved the entire restaurant! It certainly lived up to its hype. In addition to signature cocktails and an open bar, guests were treated General Tso’s soup dumplings, tempura cauliflower, and ice cream sushi, to name a few!

Derrick provided a great music list, and guests from the AAJ convention had a wonderful time catching up, taking party booth photos, and kicking back after a day’s work. Word on the street is that Derrick will be hosting another party in Nashville in 2024 – we look forward to seeing our friends at AAJ again soon!
