Motorcycle crash – $300,000

THE VIRGINIA STATE BAR RULES OF PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT REQUIRE ALL ATTORNEYS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT AND DISCLAIMER TO THEIR CASE RESULTS.

SETTLEMENTS AND VERDICTS IN ALL CASES DEPEND ON VARIOUS FACTORS AND CIRCUMSTANCES WHICH ARE UNIQUE TO EACH CASE. THEREFORE, PAST RESULTS IN CASES ARE NOT A GUARANTEE OR PREDICTION OF SIMILAR RESULTS IN FUTURE CASES WHICH THE ALLEN LAW FIRM AND ITS LAWYERS MAY UNDERTAKE.

Location: Orange, Virginia
Injuries: Catastrophic Injuries
Settlement: $300,000

The plaintiff was a passenger on her husband’s motorcycle, and they were enjoying a ride through the countryside. Unknown to them, a nearby tow truck was pulling a tractor-trailer along the roadway, allowing oil to spill into the road. When the motorcycle hit the oil, our client was thrown off of the motorcycle, sustaining serious injuries.

The husband only suffered superficial injuries, but the plaintiff sustained more serious injuries, including a spiral fracture in her leg. This required surgery and extensive physical therapy. Though she has gained back much of her mobility, she can never return to her pre-accident state.

The initial offer was $110,000. However, the case settled at mediation for $300,000, almost six times our client’s medical bills.
