Melinda South Named New President of VIPCare’s Board of Directors

Melinda South, an attorney with Allen, Allen, Allen & Allen, has started a two-year term (2015-2016) as president of the Board of Directors of the Virginia Institute of Pastoral Care, Inc. (VIPCare). Founded in 1967, the Virginia Institute of Pastoral Care (VIPCare) is an interfaith, not-for-profit counseling and educational institute, and one of the leading pastoral counseling centers in the nation. VIPCare is accredited by the American Association of Pastoral Counselors as a counseling and training center, and is a recipient of the Distinguished Program Leadership Award.  VIPCare offers individual and group counseling for the general public, clergy support groups, pastoral education programs and public forums

“Since joining VIPCare’s Board in 2009, I have been impressed by the generosity of spirit and commitment to healing and wholeness by VIPCare’s counseling staff. I am pleased to take on this two-year commitment as Board president.” stated Melinda South.

Thorpe, VIPCare’s Executive Director, shared, “Melinda South is an asset to VIPCare’s Board and we are pleased she has agreed to lend her time and energy to promoting VIPCare’s counseling work in the Greater Richmond community. VIPCare’s mission is to serve all people, including clients who cannot afford the cost of their care. Our annual fundraising goal is raised primarily for VIPCare’s counseling aid fund, which provides direct financial assistance to clients unable to pay for counseling services.”
