Kelly from Dinwiddie

I had a job delivering packages. I remember it was a damp day in July, humid and drizzly. When I was delivering a package at a resident’s home, I stepped down from the sidewalk and fell flat on the driveway. I tore a ligament on my wrist. It all happened so fast.

I had to have two surgeries; one to open me up and put some pins in place, and the second one to take the pins back out. I was in physical therapy for about four months. I have arthritis in my fingers and hand. I had been down for so long, and I wasn’t able to use my hands for the longest time.

I reached out to Allen & Allen, and Elyse was on top of it from day one. When I told her what I was going through, she immediately sprang into action – no bones about it. There was never a moment where I doubted her. I trusted her because before she ever made any big decisions, she checked in with me to make sure we were on the same page.Thank goodness I had family to lean on during the process, because how can you pay your bills when you have nothing coming in? I would have been living in the streets. Elyse pushed to get all that she could get, and she worked hard. I remember once when she called, I was feeling sick and overwhelmed and I began to cry. I’ll never forget what she said. She said to just sit back, maybe cut on the TV and just relax and that she would take care of me. And she did. She was a godsend.
