The Academy membership is invitation-only, comprised of Fellows from more than 40 countries, all of whom have undergone an extensive vetting process. Elected Fellows have achieved excellence in their careers as shown by their skills at trial, and as demonstrated by their integrity and professionalism. They are often heavily involved in pro bono efforts and contribute their time and resources to their communities.

Konvicka also serves as a member of the Admissions Committee and as the State Chair for Virginia. He has just concluded his term on the Budget & Finance Committee.

Founded in 1954, IATL is recognized as the most prestigious organization of trial lawyers in the world. They have a focus on multiple humanitarian initiatives, including the International Relations Initiative. One program involved Fellows worked alongside about 40 Ugandan Magistrate Judges to focus on best practices in the law.

Currently, this initiative is focused on the humanitarian crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border. They also run a Coalition Against Human Trafficking in the United States, among many other notable programs.

“It is a profound honor to be asked to serve as a member of the Board of Directors of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers.  I look forward to continuing to serve and support the IATL and its many important initiatives for many years to come,” says Konvicka.
