By the year 2025, the senior population (over the age of 60) in Virginia will be about 25%. Statistics show that this number will continue to grow. Unfortunately, criminals see the elderly as an easy target to prey on, and it has become an issue in Petersburg.

To combat the exploitation and victimization of senior citizens, the Petersburg Sheriff’s Office created Triad. Triad is a council that works to improve the overall quality of life for seniors in Petersburg. Partnering with S.A.L.T. (Seniors and Law Enforcement Together), they tackle the issues affecting seniors in their city.

Allen & Allen attorneys Bridget Long and Chris Jones strongly believe in protecting the safety of our elderly population, and made a donation to Triad, which will go toward Guardian Alert 911 devices. They are designed to connect with emergency operators at the touch of a button, allowing seniors to speak directly to them.

The donation was celebrated at a holiday-themed event in Petersburg, with our attorneys in attendance. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the season of giving!
