Desafortunadamente, esto no siempre es cierto.<\/p>\n<p>En 2010, Brooke Melton muri\u00f3 en un accidente causado por una falla repentina en el encendido de su Chevy Cobalt 2005. El objetivo del Instituto de Seguridad es hacer que el mundo sea m\u00e1s seguro.<\/p>\n<p>El Instituto de Seguridad es una organizaci\u00f3n sin fines de lucro que brinda al p\u00fablico acceso a informaci\u00f3n cr\u00edtica sobre la seguridad de los productos. El Instituto publica los problemas de veh\u00edculos identificados para que el p\u00fablico pueda tomar medidas para protegerse. Utilizando datos de (1) quejas de los consumidores presentadas ante la Administraci\u00f3n Nacional de Seguridad del Tr\u00e1fico en las Carreteras (NHTSA), (2) informes de alerta temprana informados por el fabricante sobre muertes y lesiones, y (3) el Sistema de informes de an\u00e1lisis de fatalidades (FARS), el Instituto de Seguridad identifica posibles defectos de seguridad de los veh\u00edculos de motor que requieren atenci\u00f3n y revisi\u00f3n de ingenier\u00eda. Tambi\u00e9n monitorea las quejas presentadas a la NHTSA, as\u00ed como las recomendaciones de esa agencia para retiros del mercado y si esos retiros realmente se llevaron a cabo.<\/p>\n<p>El Instituto de Seguridad brinda informaci\u00f3n valiosa a los consumidores sobre problemas relacionados con los autom\u00f3viles.
