Partner Jason W. Konvicka named 2019-2020 VTLA President

The law firm of Allen & Allen is excited to announce that Richmond attorney and firm partner,  Jason W. Konvicka, has been named the 2019-2020 President of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association (VTLA). The mantle of president was passed to Konvicka at the 2019 Annual Convention, which took place March 28 through 31, 2019.

Established in 1959, VTLA is a voluntary bar association dedicated to enhancing the knowledge, skills and professionalism of trial lawyers and committed to improving the law and the fairness of Virginia’s system of justice.

We talked to Jason about this great honor. “I am excited to lead VTLA as President during its 60th anniversary year – a time when our membership is growing, our financial condition is strong, and our educational programs are second-to-none.  I look forward to building on these strengths during the coming year,” he said.

Being named president is the pinnacle of Konvicka’s illustrious service to VTLA. As a 25-year member of the organization, Konvicka has chaired numerous committees and served on the Board for more than 15 years. Additionally, he has served on the Executive Council – first as Treasurer, then later as Vice President.

During his tenure, Konvicka plans to explore ways in which the VTLA can fight abuse in all forms, including elder abuse, spousal abuse, child abuse and human trafficking. He also plans to launch a campaign to educate the public on the importance of jury service and the right to trial-by-jury.

“I want to use this platform to explore new ways to help the public, our members, and those who need the protection of trial lawyers the most,” says Konvicka.

VTLA President is the latest in recognitions received by Konvicka, who has been listed in Best Lawyers in America since 2009, and was named 2018 Lawyer of the Year – Plaintiffs Personal Injury. Additionally, he has appeared on the Virginia Super Lawyers Top 10 List since 2016 and the Richmond Top 50 list since 2014. He is a fellow in the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, is AV Rated by Martindale Hubbell, and is a Certified Civil Trial Advocate. In the courtroom, Konvicka also shines having obtained numerous noteworthy verdicts.  He has also successfully argued before the Virginia Supreme Court and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Join us in congratulating Jason Konvicka on this great achievement. We couldn’t be more proud to call him an Allen!
