The post went viral, and within days, numerous women came forward and reported that Dr. Dabney had sexually assaulted and/or harassed them, as well. As the allegations began to mount, Lynchburg Gynecology announced that effective 9/14/23, Dr. Dabney had resigned from his position. However, as of this posting, his profile is still live on the practice’s website.
In addition to the Facebook post that prompted the overwhelming response, Allen & Allen discovered that other patients have reported multiple incidents via Google reviews. Four years ago, one reviewer claimed he was “aggressive and rude,” while others encouraged readers to report him to the Virginia Department of Health. Additional reviews detail how patients cried in their car afterward, reported him to authorities, and much more. Dr. Lewis Dabney has been in practice for over 20 years.
