One of the many devastating effects of the COVID-19 crisis is that donations to food banks have steadily decreased at a time when the need for their services has grown exponentially. The annual Legal Food Frenzy, which generates hundreds of thousands of pounds in food donations for Virginia Food Banks each spring, has been postponed. Additionally, those who may have otherwise donated may be unable at this time due to job loss or financial hardships.
Here at The Allen Law Firm, we want to help. We are excited to announce that we will dedicate the month of May to raising funds on behalf of the food banks that serve the same communities as our firm throughout Virginia. Allen & Allen will proudly match every dollar donated to one of three designated food banks, up to a total donation of $10,000.00.
The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank plainly states on their website, “Our resources will be stretched and strained in the coming months in ways we cannot even imagine today. Making a financial gift—left unrestricted for the Food Bank to use where the need is greatest—will give us flexibility to respond as things change.”
Allen & Allen will make donations to support the following food banks: FeedMore (Central Virginia), the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank (Fredericksburg & Stafford), and the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank (Charlottesville) in order to help meet the heightened needs of our communities. On average, each $1 contributed can provide four meals to someone in need. We hope you will join us in supporting our neighbors, loved ones, and friends.
