Kathryn B. Galford of Chesapeake was named the 2013 Virginia Teacher of the Year in an evening reception on Friday, October 12, 2012 in Richmond, VA. She was recognized along with seven other 2013 Regional Teachers of the Year from across the state. Kathryn Galford is a sixth grade English teacher at Greenbrier Middle School. She will also be Virginia’s nominee for the National Teacher of the Year program by the Council of Chief State School Officers.
The Virginia Teacher of the Year program is dedicated to recognizing top educators from across the Commonwealth and Allen & Allen has been involved with the program for over 10 years. At the reception, Richmond personal injury attorney R. Clayton Allen presented Kathryn with a check for $2500 on behalf of the Allen Law Firm. Melinda South, also an attorney with the Virginia personal injury law firm, serves on the Selection Committee.
