2011 Legal Food Frenzy | Allen & Allen Secures Third Place | Virginia Personal Injury Law Firm

This year Allen and Allen participated in its fourth Legal Food Frenzy, a friendly annual competition among 59 Virginia law firms to raise food for the Central Virginia Food Bank. In 2011 Allen and Allen answered the call with over 28,000 pounds of food! This impressive total was enough to secure Third Place in the Medium Firm Category for most pounds collected. This year’s contribution brings Allen and Allen’s total donations for the last four years to 96,657 pounds of food. Efforts such as this have made the Legal Food Frenzy by far the largest single contributor to FeedMore, a nonprofit coalition that includes Community Kitchen, Meals on Wheels, and the Central Virginia Food Bank.

The Central Virginia Food Bank has been aiding Virginia residents for more than thirty years, but is now facing unprecedented demand for its services. Over the last five years the number of Virginians facing hunger has grown by nearly 40% to over 1,000,000 people. The Legal Food Frenzy has lead the way in responding to this crisis by raising more than 6,500,000 pounds of food since its introduction in 2007, including 1,1164,143 pounds raised in 2011 alone. This massive effort has helped the Central Food Bank maintain its distribution and continue to bring food to those in need.
