George E. Allen Jr. EMS Scholarship

As a distinguished trial lawyer in Virginia, one of the founders of the highly regarded civil litigation firm of Allen, Allen, Allen & Allen, and the recipient of multiple achievement awards in over 55+ years of service, George E. Allen, Jr. made "Service Above Self" his life ambition.

George E. Allen, Jr. earned the respect and admiration of his peers and set a new standard for his profession. Practicing at the Allen Law Firm for 55 years, 35 of those years specializing in serving personal injury plaintiffs, George E. Allen, Jr. established himself as a man who gave himself completely to serve his community.

Scholarship Criteria
  • All prospective recipients will have completed an extensive application process for, and been accepted to, the Paramedic Program in the Center for Trauma/Critical Care Education at VCU Medical Center.  Information on this program can be found by clicking here.
  • All applicants will have demonstrated knowledge and skills exceeding expectations, and will possess the ability to excel in courses taken by physicians. Solid commitment to the Emergency Response Services field and strong potential for a long-term career investment are important aspects that will also determine the selection of the winner.
  • The applicant will be asked to conduct a personal essay describing how they demonstrate the ideal of "Service Above Self."
