Our Law Firm's Resources
When he began practicing law in 1910, Allen and Allen's founder, George E. Allen, was a sole practitioner. Since then, the law firm has grown in size and resources. Today, 23 attorneys in eight offices represent clients across the state and nationwide.
To enhance the quality of the legal services our firm provides, we employ auxiliary staff members with special skills. Support staff includes:
- Investigators who are trained to interview witnesses and investigate accident scenes;
- Nurse consultants qualified to review complex medical records;
- A jury coordinator who helps with trial preparation; and
- Medical lien/balance verification specialists who, at the conclusion of your case, check balances owed health care providers and other lien holders.

Your case is important to you, and our firm will make sure it receives special handling. One of the first things we do is assign a team of professionals to begin work on your case immediately.
Our attorneys and staff understand the stress, sadness, and economic strain that accompany these difficult situations. They will listen to your concerns, offer legal and practical advice about problems you face, and answer your questions about the legal process.
History of the Richmond Office
In the 1960s, attorney George E. Allen and his three sons, George E. Allen, Jr., Ashby B Allen, and Wilbur C. Allen, moved their Richmond, Virginia law firm to its present headquarters at 1809 Staples Mill Road near Willow Lawn.
A spacious parking lot made it easy for clients to find off street parking. The building was large enough to house the lawyers, legal assistants, investigators and auxiliary personnel needed to bring our clients' cases to a successful conclusion.
Over the next 20 years, Allen and Allen grew. In the 1980s, the law firm decided to expand the Staples Mill office. A third floor was added providing additional offices. The law library was enlarged, and more space was allocated to our upgraded computer service department.
