History of the Petersburg, VA Office
In 1988, Allen and Allen made a commitment to open offices close to the localities where many of our clients lived and worked. The law firm chose Petersburg, Virginia, the gateway to Southside Virginia, as the site for its first satellite office.
Our Southside Virginia clients' initial response to our Petersburg, VA law firm was so positive that within two years the firm moved to a larger office in a restored, historic house on Market Street across from the fire station. Twenty years later, this lovely brick house, built in 1850 by Archibald Graham McIlwaine as a wedding present for his daughter Jane, still houses our Petersburg office.
