End Distracted Driving Presentations
for Virginia Drivers
At Allen & Allen, our attorneys have partnered with End DD (End Distracted Driving, www.enddd.org) to offer presentations to area high schools, businesses and community organizations with the goal of reducing and preventing distracted driving. As a personal injury law firm, we see first-hand the devastating impact of distracted driving on innocent victims and their families. Since 2012, more than 225,000 teens and adults across the country have seen the scientifically guided, evidence-based End DD presentation. It was developed by EndDD with a core mission of preserving life and promoting safety on a large scale through advocacy, education, and action. The presentation has received affirmative feedback from students, educators, businesses and the community at large regarding its positive impact on creating awareness and changing behaviors.
End DD High School Presentation
Traffic crashes are the leading cause of death for teens, and the vast majority of teen crashes are caused by distracted driving. Statistics show that teens are particularly at risk of being involved in an accident because of their inexperience driving – this includes riding with other inexperienced teen drivers. Our attorneys have been trained in effective methods of interacting and connecting with teen drivers to educate them about distracted driving. The presentation is suitable for small class rooms or school wide assemblies.
End DD Civic Presentations
Distracted driving is not just a problem with young drivers. Adults with many years of driving experience are also susceptible to distractions while operating a motor vehicle. Driving distractions go beyond cell phone usage and include changing radio stations, putting on make-up, eating, adjusting GPS navigation and many more. In 2013, there were 3,154 people killed and an estimated additional 424,000 injured in motor vehicle crashes involving distracted drivers. (http://www.nhtsa.gov/About+NHTSA/Press+Releases/2014/traffic-deaths-decline-in-2013) It is our hope that through education we can aid in prevention and help save lives. Our attorneys are available to speak to businesses, church groups and civic associations with audiences sizes ranging from a small group to hundreds.
Allen & Allen attorneys are invested in creating awareness and generating action against the epidemic of distracted driving.
