Injuries: Traumatic Brain Injury, Back Injury
This premises liability case arose out of a slip and fall accident that occurred at a large corporate office building. The plaintiff was injured while walking in the atrium on her way to her office located inside the building. Unbeknownst to her, water was on the floor where she fell.
As a result of the fall, our client sustained multiple injuries. She had pre-existing degenerative disc disease in her neck and back which was aggravated by the accident, requiring surgical treatment to both areas. She also sustained a concussion/traumatic brain injury, contusion of the right hip and contusion of the posterior head, and developed traumatic headaches, occipital neuralgia, trigeminal neuralgia, chronic pain, and depression.
The plaintiff's damages were hotly contested by the defense. The defendant identified two damages experts - a neurosurgeon and a neuropsychologist to contest our client's injuries as they related to the accident. The case was resolved for $1,100,000.00 roughly one week prior to trial.
