Chris is recognized as a skilled and persuasive writer. He has authored numerous appellate briefs and has written articles and seminar materials on issues such as insurance coverage, legal ethics and evolving case law in Virginia. Chris has developed a reputation on the Virginia Rules of Professional Conduct and annually lectures at a telephone seminar on Virginia Legal Ethics. He also lectures six times a year on recent decisions of the Virginia Supreme court.

He came to work at Allen and Allen in 1976 after practicing law in New York for several years. Committed to working with the organized bar, Chris has served for many years on the Steering Committee of the Boyd-Graves Conference, a bar group of distinguished lawyers, law professors and judges, which focuses on improving Virginia's laws and rules pertaining to civil procedure. He has served as Secretary for the group for the last ten years.

Personal

Self-described as serious, religious and quiet, Christopher and his wife, Marilyn, a pediatrician, have twin adult sons and an adult daughter.

Christopher enjoys skiing, vacationing in national parks, running and reading about military history. He completed the Richmond Marathon in November 2004, the San Francisco Marathon in July 2005 and the New York Marathon in November 2006 among others.  In 2000, he ran for the Virginia House of Delegates.

During the past 30 years, Christopher has been active in his local church, West End Assembly of God. He traveled on a church mission trip to Tanzania where he helped construct a roof on faculty housing at a Christian college.
