When we say we want to “give back” to our community, we mean it. In our Charlottesville office, one way we “give back” is through our participation with the Community Meals on Wheels program. We help in a number of different ways; one way is helping with delivery service on a monthly basis. Every month, on our scheduled day, one of us from the Charlottesville office… [ read more ]

As the space between the occupant’s chest and the seat belt increases, the risk of death or serious injury increases substantially. A sudden stop can cause the human body to submarine under the belt. The insurance policy requires the person who caused your accident to contact the insurance company promptly. As soon as the accident is reported to the company, they begin an investigation and begin preparing to defend the company against your claim. Insurance company employees are knowledgeable about claims and are trained to make your claim cost the insurance company as little as possible.
You need someone knowledgeable working on your claim and looking out for your interests as soon as possible… [ read more ]

The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico from the British Petroleum platform is a catastrophe of growing proportions. Recent projections that the spill could turn the corner of Florida and cover the beaches of the East Coast bring this disaster uncomfortably close to home. Nobody should make political hay out of a disaster, but we cannot ignore the history lesson before us.
Since the 1990′s, there has been a concerted effort to limit the rights of juries to assess… [ read more ]

Tort Reform is back in the news. The Republicans in Congress insist that Tort Reform in the medical malpractice field is an essential part of any reform of our health care system. Tort Reform sounds like a great idea, doesn’t it! Reform is always good because it means something must be wrong. Something needs fixing. And fixing it will make it better. What sounds good must be good, right?
In truth, Tort Reform is a myth cooked up to take… [ read more ]

Are After Market Rims Safe?
Don’t you love those flashy, huge rims that dress up cars today? Dubs, blades, speeds, spinners and twenties are beautiful and add personality that distinguish my car from the next guy who has the same make and model. 1
But those flashy wheels come with a risk. There have been many instances of after-market wheels collapsing or breaking causing serious car crashes. Rims available from suppliers other than your vehicle’s manufacturer are after-… [ read more ]
