There are hometown heroes that walk among us every day. Wednesday night, the Allen & Allen law firm is honoring 50 of Virginia's hometown heroes.

Alan Asef, an area manager for Dominos, was announced as one of ten heroes from the Charlottesville area. In 2001 one of his drivers, 19-year-old Andrew Baber, unexpectedly died.

To honor him, Asef started an annual food drive. "Dinner with Andrew" has since collected thousands of food items for needy families.

Colleen Baber, who nominated Asef for the award, said, "He is a very humble man, always in the background, never taking any credit for any of the wonderful things he does."

"I felt touched and humbled and very honored," said Asef.

It was Baber's mother that nominated Asef as a hometown hero. This year's "Dinner with Andrew" is set for the first Monday of August.
